If we talk about the early 21st century Mexico had the highest number of speakers (around 85 million). In Columbia, there are around 40 million people while Argentina has around 35 million speakers. Even in the United States, there are more than 31 million speakers. Spanish is the official language of 18 American countries. This language has got the dialect from modern standard Spanish. Castilian dialect became popular in the 9th century and is spoken in central Spain around Madrid. During the late 15th century Castilian became the official language of Spain. The Castilian dialect is commonly used in all parts of Spain and is still going strong.

The majority of the people living in Slovenia speak Slovenian. It is one of the three official languages in the country. The language is part of the European Union and is one of the 24 official languages of the country. It is also one of the working languages in Slovenia. Slovene is an Indo-European language and it belongs to the Western subgroup of the South Slavic branch. The language is close to the Chakavian and has a Kajkavian dialect. Slovene has certain linguistic characteristics and is similar to the South Slavic languages. Slovenian has a lot of similarities with other Serbo-Croatian languages. It is different from other languages spoken in the country as it has a different vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation. Slovene has some similarities with West Slavic languages.
