This language is extracted out of both Irish and Manx. However, it has become a distinct spoken language since the 13th century in the Middle Irish period. The total number of native speakers includes 57,000 people. There are different dialects of this language but most of them have been defunct since the 18th century. If we talk about the modern Scottish Gaelic it is dominated by various dialects of Outer Hebrides and Isle of Skye. There are other native speakers from Western Highland areas including Wester Ross, northwest Sutherland, Lochaber, and Argyll. The Lochaber dialect is also a popular one.

It is now spoken in various Visayan ethnolinguistic groups. The native in Cebuanos speaks the language. It has the largest number of native speakers and is a major language of the Philippines. Cebuano has the largest number of native speakers in the Philippines from the 1950s till the 1980s. Cebuano is spoken in many western parts of Eastern Visayas, and other parts of Palawan and Mindanao. The name Cebuano has been derived from the island of Cebu and is the original locus of the language.
