Cyprus has requested to add Turkish as an official language. The Turkish language has many distinctive features. Turkish has vowel harmony and extensive agglutination and can be easily adapted by people who don’t know Turkish. The basic word order of Turkish has no noun classes or grammatical gender. Turkish has a T–V distinction and becomes easily distinguishable with varying levels of politeness, social distance, age, and other factors.
