Somali is widely spoken in the region and is followed by Oromo and Afar. There are approximately 21.8 million speakers of Somali. The language is spread in Greater Somalia. It is spoken by around 7.8 million. People living in Somalia speak the language on daily basis. About 95% of the country's inhabitants speak the language. The majority of the population in Djibouti speaks Somali.
