Traditionally Maori didn’t have a fixed writing system but it is now written in Latin script. The modern text of Maori features long and short vowels. A lot of older texts are based on long vowels and double letters.

The Finnic group also includes Finnish and some other minority languages. It is spoken around the Baltic Sea and in Saint Petersburg. It is a popular language alongside Finnish, Hungarian and Maltese. Estonian is one of the four official languages that is most spoken in the European Union. It has some overlaps in the vocabulary. Estonian and Germanic languages are of different origins. There are many similar words in Estonian and German languages. The Estonian language has borrowed one-third of its vocabulary from Germanic languages. It was introduced during the German rule and High German.
