Maltese is a popular Semitic language and is spoken by the natives in Maltese people. It is the official language of Malta and the European Union. The writing system features Maltese and Latin. Maltese is spoken by over 520,000 speakers. This language belongs to the Afroasiatic and Semitic families. It follows the peripheral dialect of Arabic that is also spoken in the Mediterranean between Tunis and Sicily. There are a lot of Latin alphabets used in this language. Even though Maltese is used as the official language English is preferred for education purposes. Traditionally a lot of spelling systems were used but the current Maltese alphabets were introduced in 1924. H is usually used at the end of every word but the final consonants appear at the beginning of words.
