This language is based on the Sorabe, Latin, and Arabic scripts. The vowels include close, mid, and open types while the verbs have three productive voice forms.

In the same way, it is the primary language in the Pashtun diaspora. The total number of Pashto speakers is around 40 to 60 million. It marks a distinctive identity of Pashtuns. In Pashto, the lexicon is directly associated with the Eastern Iranian language. Many words of Pashto are derived from Ancient Greek words.
