The language uses the Latin-script alphabet, the Kyrgyz Uniform Turkic Alphabet, and more. In 1940, the Latin script was replaced with the Cyrillic alphabet for all Turkic countries. The language was introduced in Kyrgyzstan when it became independent. The Soviet Union's collapsed in 1991 and was adopted with the Latin alphabet.
