Igbo is a prominent language among the Igbo natives. These natives belong to the ethnic group that resides in Eastern Nigeria. This language is termed 'Igbo izugbe' and was officially adopted in 1972. The foundation of this language is based on various dialects. It includes Owerri (Isuama), Anambra (Awka) and Umuahia (Ohuhu). Many other languages are related to the Igbo language. The list includes Ika, Ukwuani, and Ogba. All these are also considered as the dialects of Igbo. There are around 42 million native speakers of Igbo. You will be surprised to see that the writing system is quite innovative. Most of it is written in Latin alphabets. It is the official language of Nigeria but is spoken by other people in the world too.
