It is also spoken in Norway, Sweden, Spain, the United States, Canada, Brazil, and Argentina. Due to immigration, the language became popular in urban areas. About 15–20% of the population of Greenland are Danish speakers. Danish is a descendant of Old Norse and is a common language of the Germanic people who lived in Scandinavia in the Viking Era. Danish derives from the East Norse dialect group and is a Middle Norwegian language. Spoken Danish is different from Norwegian and Swedish.

Nepali has a significant number of speakers in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Manipur, Mizoram, and Uttarakhand. The origin of the modern Nepali language is linked to the Sinja Valley of Jumla. It is a historical language and was spoken by the Khas people of the Karnali region. The language gets its name from Khas Speech (Khas Kurā). Nepali has an archaic dialect and is spoken in Karnali.
