Azerbaijani is the official and primary language of Azerbaijan. It is a form of Turkic language that is directly associated with modern Turkish. Even though it is the official language of Azerbaijan it is used in other countries that include South Russia (Dagestan) and Northern Iran. However, the dialects for both are different. It is not the official language in the north of Iran. Surprisingly, the number of Iranian Azerbaijan is huge in number. Even the Government of Iran has banned this language for many years now. According to the latest census, Azerbaijani is spoken by 92.5% population. English and Russian play an integral part in their education and communication. Lezgian, Talysh, Avar, Georgian, Budukh Juhuri, Khinalug, Udi, and Kryts are spoken by other minorities.
