It is also spoken in Botswana, Zambia, and Zimbabwe but it is a lesser spoken language in these countries. The Afrikaans language is also called Cape Dutch. It was developed by 17th-century Dutch. Afrikaans and English are the only languages that are the official languages of South Africa. Afrikaans is very similar to Dutch, but there are clear differences between the two. It differs from Standard Dutch and has a different sound system. Afrikaans was adopted in schools in 1914. It was also the official language in the Dutch Reformed Church in 1919. distinct Afrikaans literature also gained a lot of popularity in the 20th century. About Icelandic Language

Most of the native speakers are living in Iceland where it is considered the national language. However, this language is a little more conservative as compared to other German languages. This language features western Norwegian dialects. Even the four cases synthetic grammar is also unique. Surprisingly, the written form of this language is not changed much since the 13 century. Icelandic is also quite similar to Faroese especially the written form. It remains distinctive when compared with English and German. Apart from the native speakers in Iceland, this language is also popular in Denmark. Icelandic is spoken by 8000 people in Denmark and around 1400 in Canada.
