It differs from Standard Dutch and has a different sound system. Afrikaans was adopted in schools in 1914. Some other dialects also include Northwest Hungarian, Székely, and West Hungarian. All these dialects are quite similar to one another. It is easy to distinguish them due to their pronunciation and difference in vocabulary.
